Toshodaiji Temple - Korō (Shariden)
The Korō is a two story building built on the east side of the center of the main hall and the Kōdō Lecture Hall. Although it is named the Korō, it currently enshrines busshari (Buddhist relics) brought by Abbot Ganjin, and thus it is also called a shariden (reliquary hall) as well. The external appearance has latticed windows, and doors on the upper and lower floors, and verandas and railings are affixed. The Kinkishari Pagoda (National Treasure) that stores the busshari is housed in a zushi or miniature shrine, located inside the hall.
