Korin-ji Temple

One of the temples of Gangoji Temple, and the family place of Fujiwara Toyonari. There is Toyonari's tumulus within the precincts, and wooden statues of Toyonari and Princess Chujo are enshrined in the main hall. Also, during the Azuchi-Momoyama period, the Takabou family of Nara tea masters lived here, forming one of the largest sukisha communities and salons in Nara town. The tea room "Takabo" was built to honor this Sukiya.
