Ōno Yasumaro Tomb

Ō no Yasumaro Tomb is a historic site located halfway up a tea plantation. In 1979, a copperplate epitaph was found along with remains and pearls in a grave chamber that was accidentally discovered while clearing a tea plantation. Inscribed on the epitaph is the name of Ō no Yasumaro, the compiler of the Kojiki, which is the oldest history book along with the Nihon Shoki. It was recorded that he passed away in 2010. This proved that Ō no Yasumaro was a real person.
